A vendor partner manager and a referral partner reviewing a short target account list and a referral fee agreement over coffee, deep navy and warm amber palette

Referral Partner: What It Is and How to Work With One

Short answer Short answer: A referral partner is a company or individual who introduces you to prospects in their network in exchange for a fee, without taking part in the sale or the transaction. It matters because a referral partner opens warm doors that cold outreach cannot, but the model only produces when the referral […]

Through-Channel Marketing: What It Is and How It Works

Short answer Short answer: Through channel marketing is demand generation a vendor runs through its partners, supplying campaigns, content, and funds so partners market to their own customers under their own brand. It matters because partners own trusted relationships a vendor cannot reach directly, but most of these programs underperform because they push vendor material […]

Partnership Marketing: What It Is and How to Run It

Short answer Short answer: Partnership marketing is joint marketing between two companies that combine audiences, content, and channels to generate demand for a shared value proposition. It matters because a co-branded campaign borrows the trust and reach of both brands at once, which is why a partner webinar or joint guide usually outperforms the same […]

B2B Partner Marketing Strategy: To, Through, With

What a B2B partner marketing strategy is Short answer: A B2B partner marketing strategy is the plan for how you market to partners, through partners, and with partners, so partner relationships turn into pipeline rather than logos on a slide. It works when each of those three audiences has its own goal and the whole […]

Partner Integrations: Turning Them Into Pipeline

What partner integrations actually are Short answer: Partner integrations are the technical connections between your product and a partner’s product that let the two work together for a shared customer. They matter to revenue only when someone attaches a go-to-market motion to them, because an integration sitting in a marketplace with no co-sell plan is […]

A revenue leader and a partnerships lead mapping their software ecosystem on a wall monitor, connected partner logos and a shared-account overlap chart visible, deep navy and warm amber palette

Software Ecosystem: What It Is and Why It Wins

What a software ecosystem is Short answer: A software ecosystem is the network of complementary products, integrations, and partners that surround a platform and that a customer assembles into a working solution. It wins because buyers no longer purchase single tools in isolation; they buy a set of products that work together, and the vendors […]

Greenfield Accounts: How Partners Find Them

What greenfield accounts are Short answer: Greenfield accounts are companies that fit your ideal customer profile but sit entirely outside your current pipeline and customer base, meaning you have no relationship, no open deal, and often no record of them. They matter because a partner frequently does have that relationship, which turns a cold prospect […]

Co-Branding Strategy: A Practical Partner Playbook

What a co-branding strategy actually is Short answer: A co-branding strategy is the plan for how two companies put their brands on a shared asset or campaign to reach an audience they both want, in a way that produces measurable demand. Best Partner Training LMS: How to Choose in 2026

What the best partner training LMS actually delivers Short answer: The best partner training LMS is the one whose graduates sell more, not the one with the most courses or the highest completion rates. It delivers external-facing training, certification, and content management that a partner can use without your team in the room, and it […]

PRM Portal: What It Is and How to Choose One

What a PRM portal actually is Short answer: A PRM portal is the partner-facing hub of a partner relationship management system, the logged-in space where partners onboard, find content, register deals, and track their status with you. It is the front door of the program, so it handles administration and self-service well, but the portal […]

Strategic Partnership Management: A Field Guide

What strategic partnership management actually is Short answer: Strategic partnership management is the discipline of running your handful of most important partnerships as a deliberate, measured revenue motion rather than a set of relationships you maintain. It works when each strategic partnership has a shared goal, a joint operating rhythm, and a number both sides […]

Strategic Alliance Definition: What It Means

What is a strategic alliance Short answer: The clearest strategic alliance definition is two independent companies committing shared resources to a joint goal that neither can reach as fast or as fully alone. It is a mutual investment relationship, not a vendor contract, so both sides put something at risk (people, roadmap, market access) and […]

Strategic Alliance Examples: What Actually Works

What good strategic alliance examples have in common Short answer: The strategic alliance examples worth studying all share one trait, which is a joint revenue motion that both companies can measure, not a logo swap or a press release. They pair complementary products, name the shared customer, and agree in advance on who sells what […]

Partnership Tiers: Structure Them for Revenue

What partnership tiers actually are Short answer: Partnership tiers are the bands a program uses to sort partners by how much they produce and how much investment they earn back. They should be a function of sourced revenue and executed plays, not company size or relationship warmth, so that moving up a tier means a […]

Channel Incentives: What They Are and How to Design Them

Short answer Short answer: Channel incentives are the payments and rewards a vendor gives partners to drive a specific selling behavior, from deal registration discounts to rebates, spiffs, and market development funds.
